Hollow of the Eye

Follow my eye as it twitches across this land:

Dandelion raises its shaggy yellow head to the sky.

Clouds bumble far above us, beyond the grasp of Earth's children. But they tease the tips of the range yonder.

The mountains rest beneath their fir blankets, warm against the dancing mists.

The morning rain has long departed. Sun fulfills his promise and peeps in upon us, lighting each jeweled frond with a flame of warmth.

Eye can not bear against the glory. Eye puts on a sheath of glass to relax from the squint.

A young pine gently moans in delight with the delicate stir of wind.

With a last peep of hope eye implore the cattle clouds and their Immortal riders: bless this land and Earth unto the highest road. And bless us to trust the walking of it, gently.

Gently.

Eye close and close again within. For a moment, the appertures relinquish delight and dismay upon the subtle altar of no things. "Ebb and flow, life and death" are the treasures we are generously assured. We may claim them in equal shares, forever if we wish.

Until we know when to stop, and want of wanting, we scan and scurry without rest. In rest of all this, eye am relaxed into trust of What is more than any thing:

Yes. Yes. And all manner of Yes.

Until there is quiescent Nothing.
